The Universal Law of
INTEREST

As you increase your interest in your work,Your work gets more interesting to you.

Interest: To give your full attention to; total involvement.

The Law of Interest states that to the degree that we become increasingly interested in what we’re doing, what we’re doing becomes increasingly interesting to us. The opposite is also true, to the degree that we don’t become interested in what we do, what we do becomes increasingly uninteresting and boring to us.

Boring!
Part of human nature is to complain about jobs we find boring and uninteresting.
‘My job is way boring, it’s so not interesting, I can’t stand it!’
At first glance, boredom looks like a bad experience caused by an uninteresting job. But upon closer examination we realize that because we have not put our interest into the job we’re doing, the job we’re doing has become boring and uninteresting to us.

Turning a boring job into an interesting career,
without changing locations
More times than not people with boring jobs find it too risky to change their employment in hopes of finding an interesting career. Fortunately there is a creative alternative.
You can turn your boring job into an interesting career by putting more interest into the job you have right now. In other words: As you give more interest to your job, your job gets interesting to you.

Drop dread with interest instead
Seventy-five percent of pulling this off demands that we lay down our attitude of dread and walk into our daily work life in the mindsets of non-judgment, acceptance, and gratitude. (See Law of Judgment and Law of Gratitude articles)

As we begin to practice the Law of Interest on a daily basis we will be amazed by how quickly our work life turns from jobs of painful punishment to careers with prosperous pay-  offs.

Reflection

1. What is your level of interest in your current job?

2. How ready are you to drop dread and get interested instead?

3. What actions will you take to initiate the change?
