The Universal Law of
ATTENTION

"Until we wake up to The Law and use it correctly, we are like people who light their hair on fire and then complain because their scalp burns."

"We become just like what we give our ATTENTION to."

Attention: The act of giving and keeping our minds focused on a someone or something.

We all have people or things we give our attention to. Regardless of if we are aware of it or not, when we give our attention to anything positive or negative, we are agreeing with it as being real, our attention gets absorbed in it, and we become much like what or who we're focused on.

Understanding The Law of Attention empowers us to change what we are becoming by changing who or what we give our attention to. We are diminished whenever we give our attention to negativity. However, if we are aware that we're focused on something negative, we can consciously choose to give our attention to something better.

Correct Use:

Whenever we give our attention to anyone or anything that is positively good, our entire life gets better and we evolve as individuals. For example, we can set an intention to improve an area of our life, such as bringing order and balance into our personal finances. As we give our attention to this intention by organizing our bill paying, reconciling our checkbook and spending less than we make, order and balance comes into our personal finances and every other aspect of our life is dramatically improved. The more attention we give to a good intention, the faster it comes into reality and the better our life becomes.

Incorrect Use:

Unfortunately it is much more common to give our attention to things that are negative, self-defeating and self-destructive.

For example, some of us give too much attention to people and activities that bring us immediate self-gratification such as "partying with party people." As a result, we become "party people" and get a life that comes with compulsive partying, which is emotional chaos, family strife and financial ruin. The more attention we give to negativity, the faster it comes into reality and the worse our life becomes.

Cursing the Effects While Nursing the Cause

Many of us have been ignorant (ignoring the truth), of the connection between what we give our attention to and what our life becomes.

We mistakenly curse the effects of giving our attention to the negative, ignorant of the fact that itís the negative we give our attention to that is causing the effects we are cursing.

Until we wake up to The Law and use it correctly, we will be like those who light their hair on fire and then complain because their scalp burns.

The good news is we can wake up to The Law, put away the matches and heal the burn for good.

REFLECTION

What do you give your attention to?

What have you been getting back as a result?

What do you know now that you didn't know before?

What will you do different now that you know it?
